The Nusretiye Clock Tower, better known as the Tophane Clock Tower, is one of the most beautiful worldwide. It is closed to the homonymous Nusretiye Mosque. The clock tower was built by Sultan Abdul Mejid I in 1848.

The tower looks at the European Bosporus waterside and represents the n neo-classical style. As typically for traditional Ottoman clock towers it is decorated by a tughra of its builder Sultan Abdul Mejid I. The originally clock unfortunately was put of for disrepair and nowadays the public has no access to it. However the clock tower itself is worth a visit.
