Yedikule Museum
The Yedikule Hisar was built by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror. It is located behind the Golden Gate where once emperors used to enter Istanbul when returning from their raids. Sultan Mehmet also added 3 new towers to the existing fortress wall. GOOGLE ADSENSE
The Yedikule complex was also used to prison , on of its most famouse detainees were Sultan Osman II or the Roman Emperor David Kommenos. Nowadays the building is only used as a museum and location for diverse cultural events and concerts. The exhibitions contans a collection of ancient documents and treasures of the Ottoman Empire.
