Yildiz mosque
The Yildiz Mosque is located in Besiktas and was built and planed by Sultan Abdülhamid II from 1885-1886, the last part of the Ottoman empire. The inside decoration is one of the most wealthy of all mosques in Istanbul. The complex includes besides the mosque itself an envoy room and a separated praying room for the sultan, the so-called maksooah. GOOGLE ADSENSE
The ceiling of the maksoorah is decorated with beautiful oil paintings. Also worth-seeing are the engravings of the maksooah´s minaret. The furniture and interior are also rich in diverse decorations. Beautiful calligraphies were used to round of the atmosphere.
