Ortaköy mosque

It lies directly to the Bosporus and a dock was built to allow the Sultan`s family to visit the mosque also from the waterside. Besides this the mosque hides also some of the world`s best obtained callgrafies which were done by the Sultan himself. Ortaköy the district where the Ortaköy mosque is located is known for is ethical mixed population, and so there a lot of Lord`s houses of other religions as there is the Armenian church Surp Asdvadzadzin, the Orthodox church Ayis Fokas or the Jewish shul Etz ha-Hayim. In the direct neighbourhood of the mosque there a lot of tiny restaurants and bars which become more and more famous by the Istanbul scene.
